Hello! My name is Jake and I appreciate you checking out my Substack. My whole life I've had two major passions: sports (mostly football and more specifically, the Browns) and music (mostly hip-hop and more specifically, up-and-coming artists). Over the last few years, I have been able to explore my passion for music through building and operating Fresh Scoops. While I plan to continue Fresh Scoops for the foreseeable future, I’ve lately felt the urge to find a platform to share some thoughts and content on the Cleveland Browns, the source of much of my joy and sadness throughout my life.
I am very aware of the fact that there are already many platforms out there creating Browns content (and most by fellow white men, unfortunately). So maybe this will just be me talking to the void. I avoided saying “yelling into the void” because this will definitively NOT be me yelling. That makes me think of the 50-year-old dudes on AM radio yelling things like “RUN THE BALL, KEVIN” or “The Browns need a true pocket passer at QB,” and this will not be anything close to that. Unlike those clowns, I actually have a decent understanding of the NFL (I’m no X’s and O’s guy, but I watch A LOT of football and consume A LOT of content from the actual X’s and O’s people), nor do I have that type of loser mindset.
In any case, I hope you’ll follow along. I won’t commit to any regular cadence for posts at this point, so probably a good idea to subscribe and get notified every time I drop something new.
